Hi everyone!
Some of you have already asked me what you can do to improve your listening skills. There are many options, as you already know, that include (as the first option, from my point of view) watching your favourite films or TV series in the original version, or if you find it hard, maybe using subtitles, but not Spanish, English subtitles. Otherwise, you'll find yourself translating all the time and that's absolutely NOT the point.
However, if that's not enough or you prefer watching videos or listening to people talking on different topics here is a very useful webpage where you can find what they call "ideas worth spreading". TED is a webpage where they upload speeches of people talking about the most various topics, and you have the possibility of using subtitles or not, what is quite useful for you (as some of you know, they also have an app for you phone or tablet).
Finally, if what you prefer is doing activities, there are many options as well. You can visit the BBC webpage where you can listen to a huge variety of topics and there's always a little activity and a vocabulary focus. There's also the British Council webpage, where there are assorted listenings classified by levels, with their activities. And other webpages like the ESL and Agendaweb, where there are tons of activities to practice not only the listening, but any other skill (be cautious with the last one as the level is not always the one they say and the activities are not always correct). Well, I think that's quite a lot for a start, don't you think? Please, let us know what you find most interesting. Let me share with you a couple of examples of interesting videos:
